Culture of India is known for its richness and variety. There is no other nation in the World exhibiting such diversity in its cultural forms. The most beautiful part about the Culture of India is that there is no interference between any forms of culture and tradition with an individuality in their own forms.

Considering various aspects of Indian culture, the different dance forms in India are as unique as the country. The soul and emotions are the primitive factors of any form of dance. The various forms of dance are bliss to our eyes to watch. I had an opportunity to visit GSL MEDICAL COLLEGE in Rajahmundry. There was a cultural fest with three different competitions: Adaptune, solo dance and group dance.

Many artists performed on stage and there was a tough competition among them. I will pen down my views about a specific performance in which a group of MBBS students who portrayed various dance forms of India in an elegant and most impressive manner touched our hearts. They showcased the different dance forms in bits and pieces.

The dance forms they focused on were Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, Ghoomar and Bhangra folk from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Rajasthan and Punjab respectively. They not only performed their souls out to dance but also a presentation scrolling behind them as they gently performed the peacock movements to add to the charm of dance. The presentation was running on the screen behind the artists with details about each dance form and its significance. The slides were very colourful  and designed artistically which was a visual treat.

This particular group got the first place in the overall dance competition and also bagged several compliments to their glory. This is the beginning of a new generation of cultural bonanza where a mixture of various existing forms of culture is evident and appealing. The beauty lies in the artist. The artist show various expressions which add beauty to the performance. Any presentation can be proven to be popular with its uniqueness. There was perfect coordination among the dancers and the elegance of this dancing was a real gift to the viewers.

The entire program was a visual grandeur to us. I wish to encourage all the readers to engage your children to indulge in any art forms which would not only provide laurel to them but also give them immense self-confidence and satisfaction.
