Milk Teeth- Our Primary Gaurds

Milk teeth are the most important jewel of our child’s face and it also increases the confidence of the child carrying it. Having good teeth is not only important for an adult but also for a child. Healthy teeth play a crucial role in chewing the food, thereby good digestion. 

We all know it’s important take care of our permanent teeth. But our primary are even more important because are the foundation for our healthy chewing habits and oral hygiene habits.

We generally believe the milk are going to fall so just ignore the decay or any problems arising in our milk teeth but sadly when we do that, we are leading to some irreversible issues like spreading the infection to the permanent teeth below.

Lets see few Do’s and Dont’s to save our primary gaurds.....

Do look into your child’s mouth for any dark spots or decay.

Dont wait for pain as a reason to visit the dentist.

Do if your child has a cut on lips or tongue clean the wound with water and apply cold compress.

Dont use sharp objects to remove food stuck in the mouth.

Do  in case of a tooth knock out, place the knocked out tooth in milk or water. Best is to keep it in mouth between cheek n gums!

Dont allow thumb sucking beyond 3yrs of age as it may lead to tooth decay, mouth breathing and also alignment problems.

Do help your child in brushing at least once daily.

Dont use more than pea size amount of paste.

Do rinse mouth after every meal, snack or dessert.

Dont give sugary drinks, pacifier with honey.

Do plan visit to dentist as fun activity to motivate the child for brushing.

Dont threaten the child with dentist.
