Lavanya Sundararaman, Disciple and niece of DR. NITHYASREE MAHADEVAN gave a blissful concert for Sri Ragam Fine Arts on 29th DECEMBER evening.
Lavanya started with a CHARUKESI varnam of Lalgudi sri. G. Jayaraman avgl , which was followed by Srirama paadhama.... a thiagarajar composition...inRaga Amirthavahini .
Her song selection for the day coincided with VAIKUNTA EKADHASI. 
A deep aalap in CHAKRAVAHAM preceded the krithi Vinaradhana..in which Tirupathi puravaasa found it's way as the neraval...which had a very soulful touch.. 
A divine vritham Sriragavam in HINDOLAM with the beautiful tamil krithi... Ramanukku mannan a composition of Arunachala kavirayar....had a very pleasing touch...
A fast paced sriranganatham upasmahe.. in POORNACHANDRIKA was enjoyed by the audience.
The young budding violinist Kum. M.K. Ananthalakshmi Krishnaswamy daughter of the legend senior violinist Sri. M.A. KRISHNASWAMY rendered to perfection along with Lavanya.. 
She matched wonderfully with the vocalist pace right from the aalaps upto the swaraprastharams throughout. .she explored in each raga with the vocalist to stamp the PARUR legacy which needs a special mention.
Lavanya rendered a detailed aalaap in HAMSANANDHI to take the audience to vaikundam directly with her song SRINIVASA THIRUVENGADA , a krithi which was popularised by MS AMMA. 
Her style of swaras for this song exclusively reminded her guru Nithyasree who always present effortless swaras... 
The Thani Aavarthanam by SRI. MOHANAKRISHNAN ON MRIDANGAM, SRI. KANNAN ON GHANJIRA AND SRI. Balaji Sairam on MORSING was splendid and applaudable.
Post thani Lavanya gave Nithyasree's 2 heart throbing hits of yesteryears. Varuvai Varuvai in DESH and her evergreen unforgettable hit RAAGATTHIL  SIRANDHA in 21 ragas....in which she was effortless to shift the ragas every line... with perfection....
She concluded with a MADHYAMAVATHI sloka and vaazhiya sendhamizh vazhga...nattramizhar...
Lavanya has carried the lineage of a legendary musical family and like her guru she is confident in stamping it wherever she takes on stage.
