- What has driven yourself to approach Alchemy Kids Theatre to be part of summer camp?
I am a life transformation coach for 15 years and I have been fascinated about theatre and theatre personalities like M.G.R, Kalaignar for a long time because of their magnetic pull towards the people. I realised that theatre skills helps to exponentiate the flow of energy amongst kids. I wanted to introduce this concept to the children of Salem, which I felt would be an innovative learning experience for them this year. I started my hunt for theatre workshops in Chennai and came to know about Alchemy. The best thing about Alchemy Kids Theatre, which impressed me was the immediate response that I got from the Founder Mr. Vijay Viswanathan and Mrs. Radhika. They readily agreed and were enthusiastic about conducting the workshop in Salem. Initially, I was doubtful about introducing in Salem, as it is a small town, but I was ensured that the children would experience something different through this workshop.
- Which was the most interesting aspect of the salem summer camp presentation?
Children did a spotlight presentation of what they had learnt at the camp. Senior children performed a Play called Lights, Camera, Action. Children were happy and got a positive feedback from parents too. I enjoyed the children's performance very much.
- What kind of role does Alchemy play in the development of children?
Nowadays, children are going to other extra curricular activities like drawing, swimming, karate, yoga, etc., but Alchemy Kids Theatre brings out and develops the Personality of the children by enhancing their life skills and their social skills as a whole which is the need of the hour.
- What is your advice to parents of 21st century children in transforming them as an all rounded personality?
We are living in a highly competitive world and as a good parent, we should expose them to different career options which is our primary responsibility. We should let the children be children first, by not taking ownership in their decision and let them live their dream. Children should have the liberty to choose their career and once the choice is made, parents should stand by their decision and support them.
