A Bad Workman Always Blames His Tools
A person who has done something bad will seek to lay the blame on their equipment rather than admit their own lack of skill.
Success does not depend on what kind of tools we have but how we use them. A person may have all the equipment in the world but if he does not know how to use them he can never complete a job successfully. Whereas, a person who can make effective use of what is available with him can make a success of any work given to him.
The same applies to the real world. We must learn to sharpen our talents and get maximum benefits out of them and not blame destiny or fate when something goes wrong. One who does not accept his shortcomings and burden their failure on someone or something else is said to be a bad workman.
There are two kinds of people in this world, the one who knows how to take ownership of their responsibilities and the other who escapes from it.
A small conversation
Somu: Look at my picture brother. I drew it.
Brother: That's not bad.
Somu: Actually, my colour pencils are not good enough. I should get new ones.
Brother: New ones! But these are new, they are just two weeks old. You just threw away the old ones and got this new set. Now you are finding fault with it?
Somu: But brother..
Brother: Come on Somu, there is nothing wrong with your pencils. You need to learn drawing. Go to a drawing class and improve your skill.
Somu : Yes, you are right Brother. I love to draw. I should learn it to do better.
This saying is normally used for people who do not know how to work but never accept it. If one has made a mistake then one must know how to accept it otherwise he would be a bad workman who keeps blaming his tools.
Our success or failure is determined not by what we have to work with but by how we work effectively with what we have. A good workman takes care of his tools.
