A Magical Ride
There was once a young man named Anand Vivek. He loved cars. One day he wanted to buy a car. So he went to call upon a friend of his who was a car dealer. His name was Ravi Chandraseker. Anand saw many cars but he wanted the cheapest car that was there. So Ravi suggested a car that had been lying in his garage for a long time. It was very oddly shaped and no one ever cared for it. Anand took one look at it and absolutely fancied it. He made the payment immediately and he memorized the plate number which was TN 37 F 9328. He immediately wanted to test the car so he got the keys. He stepped into the car and found four things that were very peculiar about the car:
1: There were 2 straps connected to a large plastic cover that was wrapped around the seats. How strange!
2: Instead of a radio there was many buttons with different alphabets all jumbled together! Very puzzling indeed!!!
3: He could not lower the windows. That could prove very inconvenient.
4: He could not find a brand name or model name on the car at all! Who would have made it then? Very mysterious!
But he just couldn’t wait to try it out. So he started the engine. The minute he pressed the accelerator the car shot UP into the sky like a jet. In an instant he was flying way up above the clouds! So he immediately pressed the brakes and the car went down super-fast. He knew he had to make smooth landing but he did not know to manoeuvre the car. It was then he realised that he had not filled the petrol tank at all. So his engine had shut down! He was falling down from a great height. Anand was absolutely terrified. After a few seconds of falling, the two straps had circled his hip. The plastic cover had become a parachute! The seat ejected him and then the car started falling down. It crashed into the ground and broke into two. Absolutely dejected, he landed on the ground and started looking for his poor car. But wonder of wonders the car looked good as new! Then he had noticed the parachute had come off and returned to its original spot on the seat! That’s when he realized that his car was a magical car and that he was going to have many adventures in it… But was he up for it?
Anand was now too scared to take out his car for a ride. He was so sad that he could not have a normal car!
A few days later his friend Peter Fleming came to visit him as a surprise. After he came Anand showed Peter the car and narrated to him what had happened the last time he took it out for a ride. Peter did not belive Anand’s story. So Anand decided to take the car out just ONE LAST TIME. They both got in. Anand was strapping himself up to be extra careful but Peter just laughed at him! Anand started the car and pressed the accelerator and the car launched up into the sky. Peter was absolutely shocked. Anand realised it wasn’t too bad after all. They started looking around at the beautiful clouds and were relaxing. After a while Peter got bored and blindly with no warning pressed a button with the letter “D” on it. Anand screamed out “NOOOOO!”, but it was too late. The second he pressed the button, the card landed down and they went in to a portal. When they came out of the portal they saw two giant legs and realized the “D” stood for dinosaur…
Anand started screaming and running out of the car. Peter screamed, “GET BACK TO THE CAR” but it was too late. The dinosaur had already grabbed Anand and put him on his back and had started running. Peter started driving the car as fast as he could but even when he was at top speed he could not catch up with the dinosaur.
That is when he saw a small button saying “turbo speed” next to the steering wheel. He immediately pressed the button and the minute he pressed it two huge boosters came out from behind! He was going in turbo speed! He was getting close to the dinosaur. Once he had caught up with the dinosaur, he landed on the dinosaur’s back and he grabbed Anand’s hand and pulled him up into the car. He kept driving and felt he had landed on a safe place. But it was very dark out there. Dark as in pitch dark not a single thing was seen except Anand and Peter’s phone. Anand switched on his phone torch light and so did Peter. The whole place was pink in colour. A very shiny pink! Apart from that them was just their little blue car and nothing else. Peter said “Anand do you think we are in the dinosaur’s mouth?” Anand replied, “Hopefully not“! But after some time they were sure they were actually inside a dinosaur’s mouth because of the huge tongue that was wagging about.
Anand and Peter started shivering wondering what they could do. Anand remembered a similar situation in the ‘Pinocchio’ story. As luck would have it, he had a match box with him. He gave Peter an idea, that if they light a match stick the dinosaur would open its mouth and they could easily get out of there. Anand took out the whole bundle of matches and lit them. He held it up in the dinosaur’s mouth. Unable to bear the heat the dinosaur opened its mouth in a rage. Peter immediately drove the car in turbo speed to come out of its mouth. They quickly escaped with the car. It was a narrow escape and they landed on a cloud.
But all was not well. They heard some rumbling. And some orange liquid was coming towards them! What kind of a place were they in? It had orange rivers. It was then they saw the liquid steaming. They realised it was lava. The rumbling and the loud noise they had heard was a volcano that had erupted. This was a bit too much. From the frying pan into the fire! But Peter knew what to do. The turbo button would come to their rescue once again. He pressed it and they once again shot up higher away from the volcano.
Anand and Peter were looking around to see if any more surprises were in store for them. Peter and Anand knew that the only way to get back to earth was to press the “Home” button so he pressed the same “Home” again and went back to earth everything looked normal. What an adventure that was!
Anand realised that he had a lot fun in his life through this frightful experience. He looked at his car fondly and thought to himself that there were many more adventures to come!
