Once upon a time, there lived a man who sharpened knives for a living. In the process of sharpening knives, he wasted an enormous log of wood every day. The log was so big that it would take ten days of sharpen!

One day a customer saw this.. He was furious to see so much of wood being wasted. So, the next day, he went to the king and said,"My lord, do you know the knife sharpening shop near the lake?" The king said,"Yes, I do. What happened?" The man replied,"The man who runs the shop wastes log of wood everyday to sharpen his knives. He takes such a big log and it takes more than ten days to sharpen the knives".

The king immediately declared to the people of the country that no one should not go to him for anything. From that day onwards the people stopped going to him. The knife sharpener shouted and begged them to come to him but he was ignored.

Sadly, one day he went to the king and said,"My lord, i am very sorry for what i did. Please forgive me". The king was very pleased that he had realized his mistake and admitted his wrong actions and forgave him. 

From then on he never ever repeated this mistake and he gave the remaining wood to the potters and to the other people whi required it.
