AFTER A LONG DAY
Lily and Lana were interior designers who shared a house. They also loved to give their home a new look now and then.
On a lazy Sunday evening Lily and Lana looked around and felt that their home had become dull and boring. So, they set to work and first decided to change the paintings as they were quite old. Lily brought in a lot of DIY frames which she had made in her free time in the lockdown period. Lana used a few of their stoles to add an element of elegance to their beds, carpets and curtains. Out of the money they had saved they bought some plants and a new bookshelf. It was shiny blue coloured one with 4 parts and was also painted with some butterflies… Time flew by and the girls were shocked to hear the clock ticking 12. They cooked up some noodles for the midnight dinner and enjoyed the same in their revamped den.
The girls could not sleep the entire night as the next day was a BIIIIGGGG day for them as it was their first assignment together for redoing an office space cum flat for a successful lawyer and it was also their first assignment after the lockdown had been lifted. They were anxious that all their items should be delivered on time at the desired location as they had only 2 days to complete their work. They were eager and excited to do it as they had prepared everything with great detail. Lana was in charge of the office space whereas Lily was taking charge of the small flat. The client was a pet lover so she wanted a cosy corner for the pet and also a beautiful space saving library.
Lily and Lana were up and at the site at 8 in the morning and started their work by 9. They were slow and steady as they wanted even the tiniest thing to be perfect. By afternoon the wallpaper was done, the bookshelf and the pet corner were beaming and the office space was set perfectly. The oval table looked classy and the client was super impressed. The girls were tired and sleepy. So, they Booked a cab to go home. They felt like the wait at the site for the cab was long and endless. They could hear weird and eerie noises coming from the site. It was dark and windy the lights were off. With no one around the girls were scared. But to their joy they saw their cab approaching and hastily left home.
Lily and Lana were happy to be home finally and after a warm bath and a simple dinner they decided to hit the hay soon as they had another long day the next day. The next day at the site they were frustrated to see everything messed up and out of place. All their hard work and efforts had been wasted. But they soon had to set to work to clean the house!! It took a long time but they managed to finish everything by 11. Lily and Lana’s legs were paining their hands were aching and their eyes were drooping. And once again when they were just leaving their client came in and showed Lily and Lana that it was her pet cat that had created havoc the previous night. She explained that the cat was used to her den before they had redone the same and was feeling out of place. She apologised for the same and also appreciated the duo for their hard work. Lily and Lana smiled and left but they felt happy that they had finished all their work and was appreciated so they decided to have a pet!!!!
