Gopi, a jeweller and Gokul, a magician were friends. Gokul was not a very nice person. He wanted to steal the exquisite jewels that Gopi had. In the pretext of performing a disappearing and appearing magic trick, he made Gopi give him all his jewels. During the magic trick, he stole all of Gopi’s gold jewels and replaced it with clay jewels that were gold coated and looked very similar to the original one. Gopi did not realize this.

There was a big jewellery fair coming up and Gopi was excited to showcase his exquisite collection and make good money. He had packed all his jewels in a bag to be taken to the fair. While handling the bag, he accidentally dropped one and since it was clay, it broke into two. Shocked, he looked through all his jewels and realized they were fake. He immediately called the police who brought with them some detectives too.

After enquiry and fingerprint analysis, the detectives shortlisted Gokul and another neighbor friend as suspects. Gokul, hearing about Gopi called the detectives immediately, hid all the stolen jewels in a hole in a tree in his garden. He also hid all of his own jewels in another hole in another tree. To try and shift blame to Gopi, he went and complained to the police saying Gopi borrowed all his jewels and is not returning them. Now the detectives were confused. Was Gopi taking his friend’s jewels and hiding his own and calling the detectives to confuse and cheat everyone? Or was Gokul lying and that Gopi really had fake jewellery as someone had cheated him?

Now the police and detectives were enquiring at Gokul’s house. A woodpecker spotted something shiny in the tree hole and started pecking at it and started flying with a bright piece of golden necklace. The detectives spotted this immediately and looked through the tree hole to find all of Gokul’s own jewels that he said Gopi had taken. If Gopi had really taken it, why would he hide it in Gokul’s garden? The detectives immediately knew Gokul was lying. They took him to the police station and Gokul admitted to have cheated Gopi and lied too. The police got back all of Gopi’s jewels and returned to him. Gokul was put in jail.
